“Those are impalas,” you explain, recognizing them from nature documentaries. “They’re a kind of antelope that travels in herds—known for being great jumpers.”

“I SPY VILE!” says Carmen. “Do I get a point for that?” She points out a green car far ahead along the highway.

Zack guns the engine, and your monster SUV zooms forward, passing a van and a pickup truck to get closer to the VILE car. The VILE car speeds up too. “I think they see us,” Zack says.

“Of course they see us,” says Ivy. “We’re driving the most obvious vehicle in all of Africa. We might as well be riding a rhinoceros.”

The VILE car turns abruptly onto a dirt side road. Zack hits the brakes and your enormous tires squeal across the pavement as you turn to follow. The dirt road leads deeper into the wilderness, through rocks and scrubby bushes.

“I SPY A ZEBRA!” Zack shouts. “Point for me.”

“Zack, focus!” says Carmen. As the road bends, you are right behind the VILE car. Zack cuts across the grass to get ahead of them, and then slams the brakes, spinning to face them. The car lurches off the road toward the edge of a watering hole, and then stops as its wheel sinks into the mud.

Carmen vaults out of the SUV, ready for action. You, Zack, and Ivy follow.
